Community-based Mentoring, School-based Mentoring and Men2B

The Rhode Island Mentoring Partnership is the statewide leader in mentoring and has created a network of quality mentoring programs. We supply support, advocacy and referrals to mentoring programs throughout Rhode Island.

Special training opportunity:

Men2B - Training for any man who wants to be a better role model to young men and boys. You’ll get: • Tools for better communication with young men and boys • Information about the challenges young men face growing up - and what they need from adults like you • $100 when you complete the training! For more information on Men2B, please contact Kent via e-mail or at 401-732-7700 ext. 109, RI Mentoring Partnership, 3296 Post Road, Warwick, RI 02886.

There are basically two types of mentoring:

Community-based mentor programs allow the flexibility to meet with your mentee (student) in the community, you can go on excursions and spend time with him/her on the weekend or evenings, depending on your schedule.

School-based mentoring occurs on school grounds during school hours with students in elementary-high school. Generally, school-based programs require a time commitment of 1-hour per week for one school year.
